Espace Jeunes collection

Children rule on Level M of the Grande Bibliothèque! The children's library (Espace Jeunes, in French) is a welcoming and friendly place where children 13 and younger can borrow from over 70,000 library items on a variety of media:

  • from board books to picture books, from first books to novels, and comic books, too―stories for readers of all ages and abilities
  • non-fiction on all subjects
  • books in Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Spanish and Romanian
  • fun things to see and hear in the DVD, videocassette, CD and audio book collections
  • CD-ROMs, software and Web resources are available in just a few mouse clicks
  • a raft of magazines for boys and girls alike

In the same section, children also have access to:

  • encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, and the like to help them with their school work
  • a collection of games and toys to amuse and entertain them
  • a host of activities all year long

Parents and teachers have at their fingertips a collection of materials on child development and education, covering toddler-age to early adolescence.

The collection of the Centre québécois des ressources en littérature pour la jeunesse (CQRLJ) is also housed on Level M.
