What is the National Library?

Since its opening in 1968, the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec’s mission has been to acquire, process, make available and permanently preserve Québec’s published heritage materials. Its collections include all materials published in Québec as well as all materials pertaining to Québec that are published outside the province. The National Library's mission is carried out in two facilities:
